What you'll learn in this drawing class:

Come discover the Metropolitan Museum of Art like never before!  Each week we will be discovering a new gallery and discussing new drawing techniques.  

For TOTAL BEGINNERS as well as those looking to sharpen their skills.  

Galleries include: Greek and Roman, European Sculpture, The Temple of Dendur, Oceania, Modern Art, Arts of Africa, and The Astor Garden.  

Techniques include: drawing the portrait, drawing the human figure, expressive mark making, shading, perspective, negative space, gesture and contour drawing.

Complete Drawing Materials may be purchased for $25 cash (includes pencil case) on any day of class as long as this has been discussed previously.  

Otherwise please bring:

  • Drawing Pad (At least 12 x 14 inches), not newsprint
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • White Eraser
  • Gum Eraser
  • Tortillon
  • Pencils including 4B, 2B, HB, and H
  • Comfortable Shoes
  • Stool for sitting (highly recommended!)
