What you'll learn in this glass bead class:

Have fun with fire in this entry level course!

In this two day session, students will learn the fundamentals of flameworking by creating one of a kind glass beads. Various color application and shaping techniques will be introduced to give beginners a solid foundation working with soft glass. We will also talk about concepts like annealing, jewelry construction, setting up a studio, and more!

Each student will leave the workshop with their own glass bead creations.

What to expect:

Flameworking with soft glass requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful sculptures.
After demonstrations, expect to make between 2 - 6 successful objects in this class, and a couple failures, while gaining confidence and skill in the studio.

Eligibility:

No previous experience required.

Pick-up:

The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

School Notes:

Preparing for class

It is recommended that students bring notebooks and water bottles to in person classes. All basic materials and supplies needed for the class will be provided. If students wish to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class they are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.

Studio Attire

For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair must be tied back.

Refund Policy

Enrollment cancellations made outside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class are eligible for a refund less a 5% processing fee. Refunds will not be granted for any cancellations made inside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class, or for withdrawals during class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
