What you'll learn in this ceramics class:

Develop skills in ceramics by exploring techniques from historical cultures such as Greek, Islamic, Chinese, Mexican and Native American. Students will use historical examples as a source of inspiration in creating their own clay pieces while learning a variety of handbuilding and surface techniques such as terra sigillata, majolica, burnishing and lustre.

By looking at the messages in ceramics from past cultures, students will learn to articulate their own views in this expressive medium while developing technical proficiency.
