What you'll learn in this pottery class:

The workshop is a hand building course using slabs of porcelain to build functional objects.

In the workshop, we will apply colored clay "slips" to the surface of the clay and create decorative patterns in blue, black, gray and pink.

Workshop participants will make at least 1 planter that will be finished with glaze. The planter can be picked up 2-3 weeks after the workshop.

Question from Travis W.
Hi! I was wondering if in this class, will we be making what is featured in the picture above? Looks like its a pot and the little holder for it? Thanks! Travis
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Travis! For the planter workshop, students will make the pots and the trays. The only difference is the planter in the picture is slightly bigger than the ones students make in class. The ones students make in the workshop are 3.5 inches x 3.5 inches. Hope this helps!

Really fun class and you get to make some really beautiful. Super informative and you don’t need any background in ceramics to make the planters. Fun activity to do with friends. I went solo and still had a great time

Really enjoyed this class! It's VERY relaxed and low key. Feel free to grab a coffee between stages. Plenty of time to make additional pieces (for a fee). I have already recommended it to friends.

This porcelain planter course was incredibly fun, educational, and well-priced. I do not consider myself particularly artsy/talented but found it refreshingly easy and found plenty of inspiration at the class to make beautiful pieces. I shared photos throughout the process on my instagram story and had several friends reach out with questions because of how fun/cute it all was! Given the cost of most finished porcelain products, I thought this class was incredibly well-priced, especially since you can do additional items for $9. I went by myself and enjoyed it thoroughly, though it is also fitting for couples (most people came with a friend/significant other).
