Learn about the art of Monotype. Monotype is a bridge between painting and printmaking. Artists as diverse as Degas to Jasper Johns used this painterly printmaking technique. The nature of the process allows students to work in a spontaneous manner doing gestural images and textured surfaces. Learn to experiment with blending techniques, additive and reductive methods, collage and creating textures with Gelli plates. Students will also have the option of assembling their monotypes into a gallery ready accordion book. The Instructor is present for each class. Open to all levels.
