Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this sculpture class:

In this course, students will strive to create an original work. All media and processes will be considered, including wood, clay, metal, plaster, among others. The student will be assisted to become familiar with the technical aspects and the concept of sculpture and the three-dimensional form. Individual needs will be addressed, and extensive personal attention will be given. The course is open for both the beginner and advanced student.

Registration fee included.

Note:  No materials are needed for the first class, as the focus will be on the tactile aspects of water based clay. Further discussion on materials will be presented on the first day. One 25 lb bag will be provided. Those artists who already have a focus and direction guiding them may bring in their specific materials.

School Notes:

Please note, New York School of the Arts charges a $50 one-time registration fee for students who are new to their school. This is automatically added to the cost of your enrollment (and already included in the price listed on this course). If you are a returning student to NYSA, please let us know and we will refund you $50.

Hello, thank you for your response - although to clarify, it is just lecture and demonstration? We don’t actually get to work with each medium ourselves each week during the class?
