What you'll learn in this woodworking class:

The most obvious trait of wood as a material is its linear structure. It’s when we begin manipulating this structure that the real fun begins! In this workshop, students will create curves, volumes, and 3-dimensional forms out of wood to make a one of a kind spoon.

The first portion of this class will revolve around design and development of a spoon. We will discuss how to plan, mark, and prep material for shaping, and explore various shaping techniques with hand tools.

Product Notes
Students will learn the fundamentals of woodcarving by making their very own handmade spoon. We’ll start with a block of wood and carve, shape, sand and seal it into a beautiful finished product, perfect for the kitchen.

Overview
Skill Level : Beginner
Length: 4 hours, give or take thirty minutes.
