I want to get a class for my husband as a gift. He's really not a beginner. He makes delicious sourdough for us at home. Is it appropriate for someone who knows the basics but would like to expand his repertoire? Is there another class that would be better?

Question from Anonymous
I’m wondering, for this class, are any or most of the baguettes, rolls, bread - vegan/plant-based? Even just the baguettes, for example?
Answer from Akiko M. Verified Student
It uses only flour, salt and yeast. In this sense, it's vegan. The course focused on baguettes techniques but we made couple of rolls too.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! Baguette is vegan, flour-water, salt, and yeast. The other bread will be the same base as the baguette, but will also have dried fruit, nuts and chocolate. They cannot be made free of these ingredients. Hope this helps!

Bread Basics

My sister and I loved the Bread Basics class! Dawn was friendly, knowledgeable, and well organized. She clearly communicated the importance of good hygiene to the participants and several sinks, soap, and paper towels were readily available. The classroom/kitchen was very clean. Through the hands on baking experiences, we learned many new skills. We enjoyed tea and bread with Dawn and the other participants and took home a variety of our baked goods! We highly recommend the Bread Basics class!

I hoped the course would be fun and that I would actually get hands on practice. The actual course with Dawn was even better than I had hoped. We all had lots of fun, the time flew by and we made tons of bread. I went home with more dough to make baguettes or rolls or pizza with myself later, plus 3 baguettes and a whole wheat roll with walnuts and cinnamon and raisins and a handful of little rolls with chocolate inside. It was awesome! Best of all, I left feeling confident that I will be able to make good bread myself (not to mention that Dawn encouraged us to call if we have any problems). The course was everything I hoped and more. By the way, today I made the most amazing sandwich for myself...with bread I made myself. My sisters want me to show them how to make baguettes now. I’m going to send them to Dawn!

Great class, lot of fun, learned a lot and the classroom was well laid out and equipped with everything we needed. Great content, but also a lot of information and people grabbed their breads quickly at the end, so unless you're fast, you get what's left, and it may not be yours because all the breads we work on in class get mixed on the tray in and out of the oven.
