Only an hour was spent on knife skills. I would have liked a bit more instruction

Great class for beginners - seriously perfect if you need to learn the basics. I'd recommend adding larger and more diverse quantities to chop, including a segment between veggies, fruits, and meats - which would round out the basics for an average home cook well.

Ayla and Brianna were very effective teachers, and just generally good hosts and good sports. I'll be recommending this class to friends, and stopping back to get my knives sharpened.

class was nice and intimate and there was a lot of focus on the knife skills - ample time to practice on several vegetables and fruits. Great tips for knife care and how to handle your knife. Enjoyable meal at the end. For knife skills i recommended adding in a tomato in the future, it's a common vegetable and a little harder to cut well since it's so wet inside. :-P :-)

Very comfortable setting; friendly, knowledgable and helpful instructors. Took this class with my son and his girlfriend, and we totally enjoyed it. I learned a lot, and felt much more comfortable about my knife skills when the class was over. The vegetables we chopped were made into a soup and a salad, which we all got to enjoy at the end of the session. Would definitely take another class at this venue.

Loved that the instructor taught in a manner in which the awkwardness I had around sharp objects faded away. I have the confidence to prep a meal in front of company.

Students generally had positive things to say about the knife skills classes at Knife Skills. They found the classes to be informative, helpful, and fun, especially for beginners who wanted to learn the basics of knife skills. The instructors were praised for their knowledge, approachability, and ability to create a comfortable and friendly learning environment. Students appreciated the ample time for practice and the focus on knife care. The cooking portion of the class was enjoyed and, overall, students left the class with some valuable tips and a good foundation in knife skills. Quotes: 1. "The instructor reviewed a few different common knives and their common uses. The main focus of the class was on the techniques for the chef's knife. She reviewed how the knife should be held and a few different cuts. We practiced on onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and parsley. Each person cut about one of each vegetable." - "Lovely class with good hands on instruction. We covered a lot... I'd definitely take another class at Brooklyn Kitchen." 3. "The knife skills class I took this past weekend was nothing short of exceptional! As someone who has a few years of knife experience I was worried the class wouldn't be advanced enough! I was pleasantly surprised, our instructor catered to all skill levels and taught us a bunch of new knife skills! I would definitely go back for a cooking class. The area around The Brooklyn Kitchen was very cute as well! We had some time to kill before the class and explored Would most definitely recommend!"
