What you'll learn in this literature class:

Our friends at Valentine's have just opened up as a cozy cafe in the mornings and Think Olio will be taking residence every Friday morning with an art class, open to anybody who has the urge to create a little bit more.

Taking a page from the Artist's Way handbook, we will gather as a community to take advantage of our early morning creativity and let our pen hit the paper without censoring our own thoughts. We will be doing a variety of figure and gesture drawing, ranging from quick one-minute drawings to longer 10, 15 and 20-minute drawings. No experience in any kind of art is necessary; this is just about getting in the rhythm of creating.

Multimedia artist Kayla Rymer will be guiding each activity and discussing different methods in figure drawing and how to produce figure drawings that are not only exercises but finished works in themselves. Colored pencils, markers and paint pens will be provided but all are welcome to bring writing utensils and paper.
