Located at 306 East 61st Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues, the 110 year-old Interior Design Building (IDB) houses some of the finest interior design merchants in New York City. The seven floor structure supports a number of individually-owned art and antique galleries, and furniture shops, each specializing in their particular field and offering a wealth of historically diverse products. The Interior Design Building situates itself perfectly to cater to those who demand the highest quality and originality in their interior design selections. Stops will include Bunny Williams Home, Newell, Objets Plus, Balsamo and Liz O’Brien.
Second on the tour will be the Fine Arts Building, located at 232 East 59th Street, another undiscovered gem of specialized showrooms and superb antique shops. This tour focuses on the uniqueness of the individually owned shops and their top of the line merchandise. Our visits will include the Italian textile company: C & C; one of the New York’s finest antique shops:The Chinese Porcelain Company; Chelsea Textiles, Janus et Cie, and more.
