Summer perfumes are light, breezy, cool, green and watery.
Green perfumes are categorized by snapped leaves, mown grass, new shoots and vegetation. Spring is just around the corner and the early green shoots are getting themselves ready to burst above ground. We’ll be using notes like basil, rosemary, pine, fir and petitgrain are used to create light, summery and refreshing fragrances. The floral heart is toned down and there is usually a quiet earthy base.
I've gathered some lovely perfume materials to work with in class including galbanum, rhododendron leaf, laurel, juniper absolute, myrtle and tarragon absolute (among others). I also have samples of vintage classics Guerlain Vetiver and Balmain Vent Vert, as well as samples of some of the best natural perfumers working today.
Marine fragrances are the newest category in perfume history. They’re very clean and modern smelling and mimic the ocean water, fresh air and sea breeze.
These cooling and refreshing scents wash over the skin and give a sense of relief on a hot summer day. They offer a cool water sensation in a modern androgynous way. This category is dominated by scents of aquatic plants, but also notes such as cucumber or tea accords.
We’ll be working with ambergis, a grayish black waxy material from secretions of the sperm whale, it is one of the most valuable and legendary ingredients in perfumery, prized for it’s ability as a fixative
You'll have the opportunity to create two perfumes. $25 extra to make a third, time considering. All materials will be provided.
No cancellations or refunds.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
