What you'll learn in this financial analyst training:

This course is designed to prepare financial professionals for the challenges of valuing a company or building a financial model by providing the building blocks that are employed in these methodologies. Oriented around interpreting financial results, these seminars weave classroom lecture, in-class exercises and critical thinking developed through reading financial statements of live companies into a solid understanding of financial statements.

The content is focused on providing the optimal amount of accounting to prepare participants for success as a financial professional, rather than an accounting professional. This workshop will benefit any professional required to interpret financial statements, especially for participants interested in:
  • Working in the financial services industry (investment banking, consulting, research, asset management, private equity, brokerage, sales & trading, insurance, etc.)
  • Working in the corporate or strategic development group or finance department of a corporation
  • Enhancing a past learning experience in accounting and financial statement analysis
  • Working in marketing, brand management or operations for a corporation and being responsible for a product or divisional budget, projections and profit/loss statement

Advanced Accounting (Days 2-3) assumes a basic knowledge of financial accounting. Interpreting Financial Statements (Day 1) will fulfill this requirement.

The professor was great and he did go in depth with some concepts. Having said that, I would like to see a better job at separating advanced students from beginners.
