Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this storytelling class:

Our brains seem to be hardwired for story. We binge watch our favorite shows or find ourselves unable to put a book down because we all love a good story. Yet storytelling is often left out of the office and boardrooms. Facts and figures have their place, but they seldom inspire or gain buy-in from colleagues or investors.

In this class, you’ll learn how to utilize storytelling techniques that can help your startup or project pitch as well as your presentations at work or on a conference stage.

We’ll have an opportunity to practice your pitches or presentations and offer a supportive space for constructive feedback from the instructor and your fellow students.

Takeaways:
  • Learn tips for uncovering stories in everyday life.
  • Discover ways to make your story more persuasive.
  • Find out how to use stories in pitches, presentations, and meetings.
Prerequisites and preparation
  • Students who have pitches or presentations should be ready to practice them in the class.
School Notes:
For students enrolling in 12 week part time and immersive classes, it is not recommended that you book more than one class simultaneously.

Very little if any feedback from the teacher. I would have preferred more of a critique of our storytelling and pitch. We worked in groups on each others storys, but I was looking for more expert insight. General overview and video could have been shortened so we would all have time to practice our pitches.

This class wasn't what I was expecting. It was a lot of time with our partners and less time actually learning tips and tricks for telling a good story.

Not worth going, what the instructor taught us is what I have learnt in middle school. He basically made us to practice telling stories. The course title says "turn presentations into elevator pitch" and I still do not know how to do so after the session. It was a waste of my time and money. Very disappointed
