In this class, we will bring your digital concepts to life in glass by learning the basics of 3D modeling, 3D printing, mold making, and casting.
We will focus on 3D modeling using TinkerCAD, a free introductory web app for 3D design. Students will then 3D print their designs using Ultimaker printers. Once students have completed the molds of their 3D prints, we will cast our pieces in glass and coldwork them to create finished works of art.
No glass or 3D modeling experience necessary, however more experienced 3D modelers are welcome to use their software of choice (such as Rhinoceros 3D or Autodesk Fusion).
Please note:
There will be a certified Service Dog in the studio during the class.
