The speaker was a wealth of information! I loved being able to take a few things home that she gave out. She was very easy going and approachable. It was hard to get notes down fast enough as she went through the presentation. It would have been very helpful to have a hand out or a syllabus available on line. I would go to one of her classes again.

First, let me start off by stating that the instructor was extremely knowledgeable on the actual herbs and their uses. However, here is why I knocked off two stars. I knocked off one star because sometimes she exaggerated. For example, she stated one incident where doctors would not help a patient, and a patient came to her and was healed. I do not believe that a doctor would tell a patient that he/she would not help the patient at all. Also, she said she broke her ankle, and healed it solely with herbs. In both of these examples, it was not "help" to heal; but "healed" with nothing other than her herbs. Even Rosemary Gladstar a renowned herbal teacher and practitioner with more than 35 years of experience working with herbs states in her book "Medicinal Herbs: A Beginner's Guide," that health problems that are beyond the care of an herbalist include broken bones. There were other examples of exaggeration too. But, those are the first two that come to mind. I knocked off the second star because the class was scheduled until 2:30 PM. We decided not to take a lunch break (30 min.), but rather eat during class and end at 2 PM instead. We did have adequate breaks. However as it got closer to 2 PM, she started rushing through all of the materials. It would have been better, since as a class we were scheduled until 2:30 PM, for her to have asked us if we'd want to go until 2:30 PM and continue rather than rushing at the end. It seemed as if she had somewhere to go. Her stories were sometimes long and would veer off the topic, and it would have been nice to have the name of the herb on the slide with each photo of the herb, as that is how she introduced the herbs. Sometimes she would talk for a long time about a herb, and we would not know how to spell it or understand what the herb was until she got to the next slide with the name and uses.
