Benjamin Torke, Ph.D., is the Associate Curator of the Institute of Systematic Botany at The New York Botanical Garden. His primary research encompasses the systematics, evolution, and biogeography of the Leguminosae, the floristics of the Amazon basin, and the evolutionary and ecological processes that generate and maintain tropical tree species diversity. He earned his Ph.D. From Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
