MICHAEL J. POCCHIA / ESQ.
Michael is a professor of legal studies at Pace University. He is a practicing attorney with over 19 years of legal experience and is currently employed by the NYC HRA Office of Child Support Enforcement as the Executive Director of Investigations, Enforcement, and Interstate Units. Prior to this position, he worked for the NYC Department of Corrections as an Assistant Legal Counsel. Professor Pocchia has been teaching notary public law classes for over 10 years to legal assistant students, practicing paralegals and members of the community throughout New York State. Professor Pocchia teaches Essential Skills in Pace NYC.

HON. WILLIAM J. GIACOMO
Hon. Giacomo is currently a Justice in the New York State Supreme Court. He was a founding partner of Giacomo, Gallo, Feinstein & Naishtut, LLP specializing in general litigation, negligence law, criminal law, commercial, corporate and bankruptcy law, real estate, and trusts and estates. Judge Giacomo has been teaching in the Pace University Paralegal Certificate Program for over five years. His prestigious career, vast legal experience, and superior teaching style have received renowned reviews from his students. Judge Giacomo teaches Essential Skills Contracts in the Paralegal program.

WILMA GUZMAN / SUPREME COURT JUSTICE
Justice Guzman was born and raised in The Bronx and attended New York City public schools. She worked as a Secretary/Paralegal for a prestigious negligence New York law firm. She received her bachelor degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Justice Guzman attended law school at night while working full time and raising two daughters. She received her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. After law school, she developed a skill and passion for trials and became a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an association of trial attorney throughout the United States who have achieved a verdict of one million dollars or more.

Justice Guzman was first elected in 1998 to a Citywide position as Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York. In May 2005 she was appointed Acting Supreme Court Justice in Bronx County and in November 2005 she was elected Supreme Court Justice in the Twelfth Judicial District.

Justice Guzman is President of The Supreme Court Justices Association of the City of New York, Inc., President of the Puerto Rican Bar Association, Inc. and Immediate Past President of the Latino Judges Association, Inc., She is an Adjunct Professor at Pace University and CUNY. Justice Guzman serves as a mentor for John Jay College of Criminal Justice Pre-Law Institute and the Sonia & Celina Sotomayor Judicial Internship Program and the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition among others.

Justice Guzman has received numerous recognition for her work and dedication from the Puerto Rican Bar Association, United States Coast Guard, National Association of Professional Women, Cervantes Society, among others.
