Ruth Rogers Clausen

Teaches at New York Botanical Garden

Ruth Rogers Clausen's most recent book is 50 Beautiful Deer-Resistant Plants, (Timber Press, 2011), currently in its 4th printing. Her first major book, Perennials for American Gardens (Random House, 1989) received the 1990 Quill and Trowel Award from the Garden Writers Association. She has also written for the American Garden guide series: Perennial Gardening with the New York Botanical Garden, Annual Gardening with the Missouri Botanical Garden, and Trees with the Chicago Botanic Garden. Former horticulture editor for Country Living Gardener magazine, she has also contributed to Country Gardens, Horticulture, and Organic Gardening. Ruth serves on the advisory committee for the School of Professional Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden; she is also a member of the Corporation. She gardens in Westchester County, NY, where deer abound.
