Sarah Owens

Teaches at New York Botanical Garden

Sarah Owens is the curator of the historic Cranford Rose Garden and the Rose Arc Pool at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where she has worked diligently to source appropriate roses and their companions for organic gardening. She is an honors graduate of the School of Professional Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden, where she helped renovate the Peggy Rockefeller rose collection. When Sarah isn't tending the Cranford collection, she works as an independent garden designer using roses, perennials, annuals, and native plants to achieve ecological balance and encourage environmental stewardship. She also runs her own sourdough baking business and will be publishing a recipe book in 2015 inspired by ingredients from the garden.
