Selma Chibane

Teaches at French Institute Alliance Française

Madame Chibane was born in Algiers and grew up in a bilingual environment. She traveled and continues to frequently travel to France in order to visit a large part of her family. She holds a "Baccalaureat" in math from the prestigious Lycee Hassiba Ben Bouali of Algiers, a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d'Alger and a certificate from the chair of Contagious Diseases of the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d'Alfort de Paris.  

A resident of New York City since 1996, Madame Chibane came to FIAF in September 2002 and has been teaching adults and children ever since, while simultaneously teaching at Forest Hills Montessori School. She has a long history of experience in teaching French as a second language, was actively involved in FIAF's "French Start" program for the New York City Board of Education and was one of the most active organizers of FIAF's summer camp program for the past 12 years. 

She constantly seeks to develop her teaching skills and knowledge by eagerly participating in the pedagogical development initiatives at FIAF.
