This pre-advanced course introduces more sophisticated Argentine tango elements, including forward and back sacadas, forward and back boloes, ganchos and enganchos (wraps), colgadas, volcadas, cadenas, alterations, barridas, and much more.
Important Course Information: The pre-advanced level consists of 12 rotating series that you can take in any order. However, it is essential that you complete all 12 series to fully develop your skills and understanding.
Why Pre-Advanced?
There are numerous Argentine tango elements that, while not absolutely essential, create the next level of understanding and artistry. Think of them as specialized vocabulary when learning a language. Each new element is introduced from its very foundation, with explanations of how and why the element developed historically. Importantly, you'll discover which established movement the element derives from, allowing you to leverage your existing knowledge. Since everything is new and your body requires time to process and adjust, the combinations presented are the most fundamental ones, though "basic" here refers to "most frequently used" rather than "easiest to execute."
In this course, you'll find people learning boloes, ganchos, sacadas, volcadas, or colgadas for the first time, alongside those who already dance these elements but want to refine their technique, and those seeking additional practice. Let the most experienced dancers help elevate those just starting out. Through this collaborative community approach, everyone progresses at remarkable speed.
