Understanding Product Costs, Markup & Profit is designed to help handmade business owners, creative entrepreneurs, product makers, and aspiring small business owners understand the financial side of selling products. Whether you create handmade goods, beauty products, crafts, accessories, or other creative items, knowing how to calculate product costs, establish profitable prices, and determine your potential earnings is essential to building a sustainable business.
This class is divided into two parts to provide students with both guided instruction and independent online learning. Part 1 features a one-hour live virtual stream session covering essential pricing concepts, product cost calculations, markup strategies, profit margins, and practical examples, with time for questions and answers. Part 2 allows students to log into their online student account and complete four course modules designed to reinforce their understanding and help them apply these concepts to their own products.
By the end of the class, students will have a stronger foundation in product costing, pricing decisions, and profit planning. They will learn how to look beyond the cost of materials, recognize expenses that affect profitability, and make more informed pricing decisions that support their business goals.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
