If you know how to thread a needle and follow a basic sewing pattern, off-loom bead weaving will have familiar techniques. But don't worry--these classes are designed to get you started regardless of prior experience with a needle!
Students will Learn:- This class teaches the basics of seed beading and students will learn about the different types of seed beads and which beads work best for each stitch
- While peyote is the stitch most students ask to learn, you can actually choose to learn any of the five basic off-loom seed bead stitches: Brick, Ndebele (herringbone), peyote, right angle weave or square stitch. The stitch being taught is determined by the group at the start of the class--the instructor is pretty flexible.
- The basic flat pattern for the chosen stitch; variations will be taught as time permits
- Tips for threading a needle and following a seed bead pattern
- Various ways to finish seed bead projects and attach clasps
- How to add thread for a seed bead project
By the end of class students will have completed: Students do not usually complete a project but spend time learning the basics of the stitch they have selected and variations if time permits. However, students often have a good start for a bracelet that can be finished at home.
