This Secretary of State-approved course will thoroughly prepare you for the notary licensing exam by comprehensively reviewing all relevant notary regulations and legal requirements. Following completion, you will be fully prepared to pass the official notary examination and practice as a knowledgeable and competent notary professional.
Notaries holding a current commission are eligible to enroll in a three-hour course. Notaries seeking renewal must successfully complete the exam before their commission expires; if their commission lapses, they will need to complete a six-hour seminar to become eligible for renewal.
Renewing notaries are invited to participate in all three available sessions, though you will only receive a Certificate of Completion for the specific session in which you are enrolled.
Schedule your In-Person Notary Exam without delay. Exam appointment slots fill rapidly, so register immediately. If your preferred exam location has reached capacity, you may attend as a walk-in candidate, though a seat cannot be guaranteed. Testing schedules are updated regularly, and larger counties typically provide multiple examination dates and times throughout each month.
Please bring all of the following items when arriving to take the exam:
1. Secretary of State Notary Exam Application Form (this will be provided during class)
2. Valid Government-Issued Photo ID, which must be one of the following:
