Chef Eric’s knife skill class was a good way to get started with cooking classes. He starts off by talking about the different knifes you need and then demos the style of cuts and finally you get to enjoy cutting your self as him and his assistant go around teaching you as you do what you have learned. I’ll be back to learn from Chef Eric.

What a wonderful experience this was. Shanna (hopefully I’m spelling her name correctly) was fabulous! She was lively, personable, passionate, and sweet. I purchased this class for my wife and I for our anniversary. My wife is very interested in mixology, so this was the perfect surprise for her. I would absolutely attend another class, and highly recommend anyone “on the fence” whether or not to book. Thanks, Shanna. We’re mixing cocktails as we speak! (:

Discover the Best Couples Cooking Classes in Los Angeles

Cooking is the art of using heat to create delectable meals that can be enjoyed at home or in restaurants. In addition to applying heat through a variety of methods, cooking also involves mixing together ingredients to form new and distinct flavors.

Many couples relish cooking together, and some find that problem-solving in the kitchen helps strengthen the bonds in their relationships. Cooking a meal as a team can also make the meal more fulfilling thanks to the feeling of accomplishment that comes with learning a new skill. Because cooking with a partner is fun, couples cooking has become a popular choice for date nights.

Why You Should Learn Couples Cooking in Los Angeles

Many couples find that creating mouthwatering meals together alleviates stress because it allows them to focus on the here and now. Cooking is also known to stimulate curiosity, which can enliven a stagnant relationship. As they spend quality time working together, many also discover that their efforts in other areas, such as managing finances, become better coordinated. Partnered cooking is a fun way to develop stronger communication skills, as two people take responsibility for different tasks while also working toward a shared goal.

In addition to benefiting intimate relationships, couples cooking can also provide opportunities to connect with a wider social circle. Local classes are a great place to meet other couples in the area with shared interests.

In-Person Couples Cooking Classes in Los Angeles

Couples cooking classes are a popular date night item throughout the world. In-person classes can also be a fun way to get away from little ones for a while and even make new friends. In addition, most in-person classes provide ingredients and materials, making them a convenient and cost-effective way to learn new cooking skills. Thanks to their popularity around the world, there are a variety of couples cooking classes to choose from in Los Angeles, including options for those looking to try wine tasting.

CocuSocial Cooking Classes offers a diverse selection of cooking and baking classes at their Eagle Rock location. Students of all levels can join their Better than Takeout Pad Thai course and are encouraged to bring friends. After learning beginner knife skills, couples learn how to cook traditional Thai noodles. Next, the class teaches students how to authentically recreate a sweet and sour Pad Thai sauce from fresh ingredients. By the end of the class, couples are enjoying the multi-layered flavor profile of a classic chicken or vegan tofu dish they created themselves.

Alternatively, couples who are interested in increasing their wine wisdom can participate in a two-hour Introduction to Wine course through LearnAboutWine/WineLA. Based near Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo, this beginner-friendly course takes couples through the history and character of six different wines. Along with plenty of tasting opportunities, the class explores what foods work well with wines so couples can later charm guests with great food pairings. In addition, couples in the class learn how to describe wine flavors and develop greater confidence when it comes to talking about and purchasing this classic drink.

Virtual Couples Cooking Classes

For couples who either don’t live near a local cooking class or find it difficult to get away for long enough to attend an in-person class, there are plenty of live online classes that are just as fun and interactive. Skipping the commute can make it easier to unwind and have fun together. Couples can then join the course from their own kitchens, which can make for a romantic experience.

To participate, each couple will need to come prepared with their own ingredients and cookware. However, teachers provide students with a list of needed supplies in advance. Compare online couples cooking classes with CourseHorse’s handy search tool.

By far the most popular classes explore the topic of wine, with a variety of Zoom courses available through NYC Wine Company. In Wine 101, couples can get comfortable with this ancient drink, learning what wines they like, how to read labels, discuss flavors, and ultimately make more wine purchases they’re happy with. For those smitten by the great wine country, the school also offers an Italy: North to South course that looks at six different wine flavors from Tre Venezie to Campania. Alternatively, couples who are interested in learning about how nutrient-deficient soils create some of the best-tasting wines may enjoy the Islands and Volcanoes course.

For the all-naturals among us, Teaching Table offers a course exploring how to brew Plant-Based Milks at home. Their virtual classroom features live guidance as couples work through a three-step process of creating a plant-based milk of their choice. Along with classics like cashew and almond milk, the course also covers more unique ingredients such as amaranth, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, and oat milk. In addition, couples learn how to make almond pastry cream and plant-based bechamel.
