Knox Farrand Art Studio

Studio 1021 is an art studio and gallery in Long Beach, CA. We host figure drawing/painting workshops and private art lessons.Located on Broadway in Long Beach, CA and blocks from the Pacific Ocean, The Long Beach Museum of Art, and The Museum of Latin American Art, Studio 1021 is dedicated to cultivating creativity, artistic growth and increased artistic expression within our community. One of our primary focuses is life drawing workshops. We offer a friendly atmosphere for artists of any level who want to draw/paint the human figure. We welcome a variety of media, and you are encouraged to use the time to further your own artistic expression and skills. The pose lengths vary during each 3-hour session, but we will generally start with short poses and proceed to longer poses. Wednesday nights are generally longer poses while Friday mornings are generally shorter poses. Plus we offer portrait workshops on the second Sunday of every month; costumed, one 3 hour pose on the second Wednesday of every month; and paint-outs 'here and there!' :) Please keep track of events through the calender. Additionally, we also feature gallery space for local artists, and we have art openings quarterly. Our goal is to facilitate creative expression within our community and give local artists opportunities to showcase their talent. Join our group if you are interested in life drawing workshops, other art classes, and/or gallery shows while meeting other like-minded people in our community.
