What you'll learn in this special effects class:
The introductory Lighting Workshop is designed for the beginner filmmaker looking to learn the fundamentals of film lighting. Along with basic hands-on instruction, students will be demonstrated some of the tools that are used to create visual styles that support the story.
Topics discussed will include grip gear and creative gaffing techniques. Students will work with lights throughout the workshop. Be prepared to handle equipment. Students participating in this workshop should bring work gloves to the sessions. No open toed shoes please!
Students will learn what light to use and where to put it to get the best possible look.

Students will learn what light to use and where to put it to get the best possible look.
Course will cover:
- Breakdown of different types of light
- Hard Light / Soft light / Bounced Light
- Three point lighting
- Proper exposure
- Using practical sources
- Color
- Temperature / Gels / Diffusion
- Lighting for depth / separation
- Grip equipment
- Electricity, Breakers, and fuses.
- Basic film set language
- Set / Location Safety

We hope that students can attend the program that they have registered for but also understand that sometimes circumstances come up that prevent them from attending as planned. Given this, students who have paid for and cannot attend the class they have registered for must let us know 22 business days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund of any tuition they have paid minus the non-refundable registration fee. No refunds will be made to students who drop out after this time.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
