About Michiyo Art Studio

Established in 2009, Michiyo Art Studio provides art lessons for all levels.

Michiyo Fukushima is professional artist who is specialized in Watercolor and will also give instruction on drawing as foundation as needed. It is her personal studio that she is opening for students who are eager to learn and share the same passion for the watercolor medium.

Michiyo is NY based fine artist, native of Japan. She is represented by Fischbach Gallery (NYC). Her works have been exhibited in numerous group shows and solo shows in NYC, Tokyo and Osaka. Her works have appeared and been featured in numerous newspapers and art magazines including the International Herald Tribune and American Artist.

Michiyo's studio is small and personable! She is very talented and was so open to answer any questions I asked. I have been teaching myself water coloring by watching videos fromYoutube. The videos have been informative, but I needed someone to share their wisdom in person. I learned a few things that I did not know, so I will definately return to take a few more classes with her.

Hi, The teacher was knowledgable but the environment was slightly cold and the instructor did talked down to students and was slightly sarcastic with them. I think she could have acted more welcoming and been more encouraging and supportive of students attempts. I did learn valuable information and she was helpful for that.

Michiyo is a wonderful painter herself, and a delightful instructor -- I always learn something valuable, and the time just whizzes by.

Michiyo is expert and attentive, and the small setting and entire atmosphere very conducive to creating.

I arrived late (my own fault!) but found the teacher to be expert, attentive, responsive to each person's different level. I plan to go back if and when I can.

She left us pick different still life that we wanted to draw. Each one of us chose something different based on our prior experience. She then circled around and gave us individual instruction and criticism. I personally found it very useful and two hours just flew by.
