We enjoyed this class, but definitely not worth the price tag. You’d probably be better off watching YouTube videos and doing this step by step in your own home as the instruction was brief and done all at once rather than in segments. It’s very nice that the clean up and measurements are done for you!! However, at various instances we found ourselves missing ingredients or starting with dirty utensils from previous classes. Also FYI - you’re not allowed to bring liquor/cocktails so the BYOB is limited to beer and wine which is not clear anywhere in the BYOB instructions. Overall we had a good time but I would not pay this hefty price tag for the class we received.
The class was from 7:30-9:30, the instructor did not start on time, so we actually began eating our food at 9:35pm. I was starving. She started out strong with giving clear direction and modeling. However, towards the end I felt like she was rushing and the instructions felt unclear. The food was subpar. The rice was basmati rice, which is clearly not Chinese and the general tsaos chicken felt like it was chicken cutlet pieces. The sauce did not taste as dense as I had expected.. rather felt more like a dipping sauce for the chicken. I expected something a little more tasty.

Our instructor was Jasmine and she was a pleasure. She provided a clean setup, she demonstrated the steps and then we would work with our table to replicate the steps. She gave us tasty and easy recipes and I can't wait to apply what I have learned in class.
Class was fun and our instructor was great. The recipes were ok, not as good as some other classes at Taste Buds.

The class was very hands-on and I learned a lot. The instructor explained everything and showed us what to do very clearly. She came around at each table to see if we needed help or if we had any questions. The only thing that was missing was that we did not receive the recipes at the end of the class and was told we would receive it by email later on which was a disappointment as I had wanted to try the recipes the next day so that I could internalize what I learnt.
The teacher was very sweet and explained a lot of the material in detail. But overall, I didn't feel like I learned much as I do cook. I didn't like that we had to "share" the experience and some of the instructed exercises with the other couple at our table. My steak was not cooked as well as I wanted although I followed the timing chart. It was just ok. Not sure we will be back. :(
