What you'll learn in this drawing class:

Want to get out of the house or studio and refresh your artistic skills? Looking to meet local creatives, network and exchange ideas? Well, never fear! Q.E.D. is here!

On the first Friday and third Tuesdays of every month, Q.E.D. hosts a social drawing event with focus on figure drawing from a live model.

Model poses can range from 30 seconds to 20 minutes.

Important Things to Note:

  • No need to be a pro, stick figures and hand-turkeys welcome! Bring your friends or enjoy an evening of creative exploration and meeting local artists. Each event will have a unique theme, new models, and plenty to drink!

Q: Are materials provided and included in cost of the class?
A:

Q: Can you bring your own food & drinks?

Refund Policy
We require at least seven (7) days' notice before a class in order to issue a refund and there are no transfers to future classes allowed. We're a small operation and purchase our own supplies and keep classes extremely affordable, so we have to operate this way just to stay in business.

But, all is not lost, tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.

In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If we do cancel for weather or an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.

It was really enjoyable and I loved the space, but a little intimidating for a new artist like myself! By the end I felt more empowered and hope to try another class in the future.

Space was tight when I arrived, and I wasn't on the list possibly because I booked through coursehorse. No drink special when I attended, maybe update the description of the event "We'll be offering 16oz Queens Lager by Queens Brewery for $3 each while supplies last!" $7 drafts is what I was met with. Class itself was as described, a free drawing session with a live model. I wish it was a bit more organized and honored the described drink special.

Great way to spend an evening - makes a very good date night regardless of how artistic you (or your date) are. They provide some supplies, but I'd say bring your own if you have them. We had one model doing a variety of timed poses throughout the evening. The music was cool, and the drinks are pretty tasty...I'll be going back.

Chill and relaxing space! The front half houses several tables and the bar and separated by a curtain is the back half of the space with several tables and a little stage. Everyone was so kind and welcoming there. Food was all handmade and dessert cake was awesome! Prices super reasonable and the bartender even recommended my husband and I get a bottle of wine next time for the value after our 4 glasses! The event took place in the back half of the space and was two hours of drawing with a live model. The model was in the center of the space and tables set up all around. Started out with quick timed draws- 30 seconds each then increased incrementally and ended with two 15 min draws. The model picked a wide variety of poses and rotated her position for each one so you got to draw from all angles. Great pacing and way to practice! They even have an instagram competition. Very neat spot. They had a writing event happening at the front of the house too. So much to offer. Will come back!
