Melitte Buchman & Olivia Mueller

Teaches at Penumbra Foundation

Melitte Buchman is a tintypist, salt printer and by trade an archivist. She has worked professionally as a preservationist for over 20 years starting with an old master painting restoration studio in Soho. She is the CEO of Envision-Imaging, LLC, was the Digital Content Manager at NYU’s Division of Libraries, responsible for digital imaging and preservation of video for fifteen years. Prior to NYU she was Head of the Digital Imaging Unit and also worked in the Exhibition Department of The New York Public Library. She has served on the boards of Independent Media Art Preservation, Association of Moving Image Archivist’s Magnetic Tape Crisis Committee, and is a Technical Advisor for CAP digitization project at the Penumbra Foundation.

Olivia Mueller is a professionally trained archivist with a MLIS degree from Pratt Institute. She has been working in the field for over eight years with an emphasis on digital asset management. She has also been partnering with Melitte Buchman on the Penumbra library digitization project for over six years.
