Now based in Massachusetts, Amar Gamal was born in Havana, Cuba began bellydancing at the age of 13 under the direction of Tamalyn Dallal. She won the double title of Ms. America and Ms. World in 1996, winner of Bellydance Breakbeats Competition 2002, and first runner up in the Ms. Egypt competition in Cairo, Egypt 2004. Amar was a principal dancer with the Bellydance Superstars and is co-founder and former principal dancer with Bellyqueen before she moved back to Massachusetts. Her elegant and unique style has made her a sought after performer and instructor both in the U.S. and internationally.
