Esther K. Smith

Teaches at Shoestring Press

Esther K. Smith, the author of How to Make Books and, more recently, The Paper Bride, designs and stitches artist books and limited editions at Purgatory Pie Press in collaboration with letterpress printer Dikko Faust and other artists and writers. Solo exhibits include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria & Albert Museum, RISD and Harvard University. She has been featured at The Cooper Hewitt Museum of Art and Design, The Folk Art Museum and Etsy.com's Dumbo headquarters, and has curated exhibitions for Center for Book Arts and Long Island University, among others. Smith teaches the long-running Artist Books class at Cooper Union.
