Mark Beauregard

Mark is registered drama therapist and licensed creative arts therapist with over twelve years of experience in mental health working with people all of ages. He is a graduate of New York University and is also an adjunct professor of drama therapy at Manhattanville College.

Mark is a warm, passionate and astute clinician whose creative interventions support and encourage real change. A believer in the arts and drama as powerful forms of self expression, Mark utilizes metaphor, story, play, and drama to go beyond just talking, to help people access parts of themselves to move toward action in their life. In sessions Mark encourages his clients to work through and identify roles that are holding them back and to strengthen the roles they need to perform more confidently for themselves and in the world. Mark has helped children and adults work through issues related to domestic violence, childhood trauma, divorce, mental illness, addiction, gender and sexual orientation conflicts and support, parenting support, bullying and school related stress, opposition and anger, depression and low self-esteem.

Mark is a published author and also specializes in gender and sexuality affirmative psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults. He frequently teaches and provides trainings on the use of creative arts therapy with LGBTQ and gender nonconforming individuals and their families. He is passionate about creating a safe, creative and affirming space for his clients, both within the office and more importantly within themselves.


Isabel Shanahan

Isabel is a graduate of the New York University Master's program in Drama Therapy, is licensed in New York and holds the national registration for drama therapists. Isabel's background in acting, theater making, and creative community development work, including her current role as the Director of Brooklyn Acts, a student-driven theater program, afford her a rich, integrated approach to healing through drama therapy. Isabel has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and their families cope with a variety of challenges through theater and play, including terminal illness, inter-family trauma, behavioral issues, chronic mental health obstacles, and major life changes. Isabel believes deeply in the power of healing through creative expression, and it's power to help cross cultural and personal barriers towards a deeper human connection. 

For her own personal and creative outlets Isabel makes theater with her creative partners, and escapes the city frequently to explore small towns and be in the woods. Isabel was a graduate intern with our company in 2013 and we are excited to have her return to work with us full time.
