Pilar Alessandra
Pilar Alessandra is the director of the screenwriting and TV writing program On the Page®, host of the popular On the Page Podcast and author of the top-selling book “The Coffee Break Screenwriter.”
Pilar started her career as Senior Story Analyst at DreamWorks SKG and, in 2001, opened the On the Page Writers’ Studio in Los Angeles. Her students and clients have written for The Walking Dead, Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost and Family Guy. They’ve sold features and pitches to Warner Bros, DreamWorks, Disney and Sony and have won the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Screenwriting Competition and Warner Bros. TV Writing Workshop.
In addition to her private classes taught out of the On the Page Writers’ Studio, Pilar has trained writers at ABC, Disney Animation, CBS and will host the 2016 Pitch Conference at the American Film Market. Pilar has traveled the world teaching in London, Dublin, Beijing, Warsaw, Lisbon and Cape Town, training writers, animators, producers and show runners in the art of writing, story telling and pitching.
Robert Bailey
Robert Bailey has received critical praise for his productions Off-Broadway and in Los Angeles. He teaches directing and acting at USC and has staged over a dozen School of Dramatic Arts productions. He is also currently on the faculty at the New York Film Academy and leads The Directors Workshop in North Hollywood. He was a teacher and coach at the Corner Loft Studio in Greenwich Village, and conducted workshops and master classes for Sarah Lawrence College, Brown University, School for Visual Arts, Manhattan Theatre Workshop, Foundation for the Creative Community, Billy Siegenfeld and Dancers, Talent Unlimited, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. He has taught and directed on the graduate and undergraduate levels at UC San Diego, UCLA and Brown University.
