Trina Pilonero

Teaches at New York Botanical Garden

Trina Pilonero was trained in gardening by her father on 1.5 acres of land which fed a family of eight. She is a Master Gardener emeritus, has assisted with establishing farmers' markets in Sullivan County, and has been actively involved in growing and marketing garden plants for more than 20 years. Trina grows and sells nearly 2000 varieties of OP (open pollinated) unusual and (often) heirloom vegetables, herbs, and cottage-garden flower transplants. She currently grows approximately 250 varieties of OP tomatoes. She has served on a number of boards including Sullivan County's Cornell Cooperative Extension, NOFA-NY, Inc., and the Farmers' Market Federation of NYS.
